Rep. Weidner Takes Oath of Office; Receives Key Committee Assignments

SALEM— Rep. Jim Weidner (R-Yamhill) today was sworn-in as State Representative for House District 24. Rep. Weidner, serving his second term in the Oregon House, was appointed by the House Co-Speakers to key committees for the 2011 legislative session.

“It’s my honor to serve the citizens of House District 24,” Rep. Weidner said. “I look forward to working with members of both sides of the aisle to help improve our economy and balance the state budget.”

Rep. Weidner has been assigned to serve on the Health Care, Transportation and Economic Development and Human Services Committees.

“These committee assignments allow me to play a role in developing policies to improve our economy and create new jobs for Oregonians,” Rep. Weidner said. “We need to develop a program that makes healthcare affordable and accessible to all Oregonians. Our economy requires an effective transportation system and strategies to help our businesses succeed and grow. I’m ready to tackle these challenges and get Oregonians back to work.” said Rep. Weidner.
